I am trying to take apart the Hornby LNER teak coaches, the relativly old ones.... they have no obvious ways of disassembling them, so can anybody help me..? Many Thanks Will |

Okay. Start at one end with the carriage upside down and gently squeeze together the two brown tabs attached to the body which come through the end of the chassis. I found it helped to slip a screwdriver in between the bottom of the body and the top of the chassis at the same time. Then work back along the body towards the centre with a finger nail or thin plastic between the bottom of the body and the chassis until you reach the four centre clear plastic lugs which you can see in my picture attached to the bottom edges of the body. These need to be pushed gently towards the centreline of the chassis and they will pop through, out of the chassis with the pressure from your finger nails. Complete by continuing to the other end and once again squeezing together the two brown tabs at that end. Hope it works for you. If you are going to detail the interior, I will be interested to see pictures of the result. |
