OK, so I want to burn some of my pics on to a CD. Easy, you say. Not so, chaps. When I click on the picture and look in Picture Tasks, there is no option to" Copy to CD." Am I looking in the wrong place? ![]() ____________________ Max Port Elderley |

Max unless you are using a special photo package it is quite easy to copy photos to a cd All you need to do is put your blank cd in the drive then go to where you keep your photos if in a folder all you do is right click on folder then go down to send to then select send to removble drive or whatever its says as your cd this will then create a tempory folder called files to be written to cd and will allow you to drop in as many folders as you want in as long as you dont go over the size of the cd. If you want you can do it with individual photos not folders but it will take longer. you will see an icon on the taskbar which says files to be written to cd when you are ready open and select burn files to cd and you are away. Your photos will then be backed up cheers Brian |

Hi Brian. When I right click on the photo, then send to - there is no drive option there. Only desktop, skype etc.

Max this might be a silly question, but are you opening Nero first? We have Nero, but if I just right click a photo in, say, my documents, there's no Nero option for me, although there is some other burner on the subsequent menu. I haven't even tried doing it that way before. |

Max something must be wrong then i assume the dvd burner is backward compatable and can burn cd`s aswell as DVD`s? If you can see the cd burner in my computer window and it shows a cd in it you can acually drag on drop or copy and paste them onto it that will do the same as i mentioned earlier cheers brian |

I can't see a CD in the burner in My Computer. It's a brand new CD/DVD burner. There has to be something else wrong. I'm going to try to burn a CD on my laptop. Mike the Nero will only burn DVDs it has no CD burning option. ____________________ Max Port Elderley |

OK Gurus. Here we go . . . I copied the pictures on to an external drive and put that into my laptop. I moved the pictures from the drive into My Documents in a folder marked CD Burn Files. I put a blank CD in the laptop. I opened the Folder and left clicked a picture. No CD burn option. I right clicked the picture and clicked Send To - no burn option. I clicked on My Computer, DVD Drive - it said, "please insert a disc into the drive." I'm using TDK CD-R 700MB GOLD blanks - are they wrong? Should I be using DVD blanks? I'll try one and get back to you . . . ____________________ Max Port Elderley |

There should be a drop down list in Nero for DVD, CD or CD/DVD, at the top of the Nero window. Each gives you different options in the main Nero window (CD/DVD gives you everything).

Max If you say that your copy of Nero only burns DVD's put one of those in and try, or download the latest copy of Nero, as that should copy to both CD & Dvd,. But As Brian has said, because you have XP, you should also have windows cd/dvd burning programme, does your drive work, have you tried to read anything else in that drive. |
