Grimethorpe was an N gauge layout that was built in a spare bedroom using Kato track and largely Farish locos. There were also some minitrix and kato locos and rolling stock. The layout consisted of an 8 x 4 foot oval with a dividing backscene, with the town of Grimethorpe on one side and a country through station on the other. Sadly Grimethorpe had to be dismantled when I moved house and thus was never completed. At that point I decided to change to 00 scale, however, all the track and stock is now with my son-in-law, who is constructing a layout in his attic. I am encouraging him to join the forum. So in memory of Grimethorpe some pictutres showing how far I got with the project: The town side:         Novice |

I have already sympathised with the sad passing of this layout but I will repeat those sentiments for the benifit of those amongst us who did not have the pleasure of knowing it.. Now pass the collection tray!! Mike |

Some quality work went into that. I particularly like the first photo. A shame it's gone, but it gave you some good experience. " I am encouraging him to join the forum. " I think Bob's offering a Christmas bonus for anyone who recruits a new member. Might be best to check, though. :D Mike |
