I am considering some means of adding non DCC sound to the layout using several speakers under the baseboard and have been looking at modules which can record and playback without the need for a computer and give reasonable record/playback times. The Velleman kit I have found seems to fit the bill with time of 8- mins stated. Has anyone experience of this kit or can suggest ant other means of adding sound other than on board the Loco. Any suggestions on this would be most welcome. Thanks Barry T |

Which Velleman kit are you thinking about Barry ? I hadn't heard of them but Google threw up a couple of YouTube clips of the MK 134 kit and to be honest, I (together with 1 reviewer) thought it dreadful !! It could of course, have been the speaker they used but it just didn't sound anything like a steam locomotive to me. For background sound, I'd buy a sound effects CD and play that under the layout....................... ![]() ____________________ 'Petermac |

Hi Peter,Thanks for your reply, the kit I am considering is the Velleman K8094 which is a recording/playback module which would allow me to use authentic steam sounds etc. |
