Don’t panic Peter, there is lots of days left in the month yet to suggest a photo I’m sure we’ll have lots of entries as we pass the middle of the month :-)

I am a bit worried about adding another photo and there being no outright winner, so have decided to vote for one of the three already nominated. Well done on the choices - super photographs from super layouts (and we could all probably find another dozen from each of them...) Pen Y Bryn is a superb layout, and like John, one of my favourites. Almost so good as to make me take up another hobby! Thankfully it just acted as inspiration, even if I may not get to this high standard. And I like the idea of a B/W photo...... And Kaiser is right, Ben's Far North has such great detail and everything always looks just right. But my vote this month is going to.... ![]() Beautiful modelling, a super photo and a thank you for all the tips, how to's and inspiration freely given. To me, one of the delights of this "Picture of the Month" thread is looking again at the wonderful photos posted on here. Whilst wandering back through the threads, some of them spanning several years, one is reminded of the stunning level of modelling some of our members are able to achieve. I can't speak for others but they are an absolute inspiration to me - something very important when one models alone. It will be years before I exhaust the supply of pictures having sufficient quality to head up this band of very lucky railway modellers. My selection this month will come as no surprise to most of you - a scene from one of my all-time favourite layouts, John Dew's Granby Junction 1948 N. Wales - simply bursting with detail superbly modelled : ![]() ____________________ 'Petermac |

That is a great choice, Peter, from the many wonderful photos posted by John. And you are right, looking back through posts is a joy. I have no idea how large his layout is, but his modelling and detailing leaves the impression of a vast interconnected system of different levels and architectural eras. We could have a JD photo of the month competition just from Granby pics. And another member who freely gives his knowledge and experience. There are so many excellent photos from many superb layouts on our forum and I'm sure all will feature in the comming months for POTM, so for this month, I nominate this shot of John Dew's GWR / LMS urban landscape from Granby.
