Im starting a nice micro diorama build to show off my Andrew Barclay loco. I absolutely adore this loco and thought it should have a small scenic diorama.The diorama is 170mms x 60mms, the back of the diorama will have grass and foliage running along the full length. The track will be a standard straight by Hornby. Ballast will also be laid with weathering to both the track and ballast. Hi Kev, Good start to your scene, but you may want to remove that photo for one without your name and address on it, as an open forum can attract unwanted attention from the darker parts of the internet. Nice one Kev. A small thing ? That picture is showing your address through the plastic box lid. You might want to re do It with the address blanked out and delete the original bud  Cheers Matt Edit to add. First of all thanks for the interest in my diorama.Yesterday I added the paper mache to form the rocky incline, once this dried I brushed on some filler which has dried nicely. This will be painted and weathered in due course. The track has been laid ready for painting and weathering and ballasting will be completed. Hi today I have been busy weathering the track with sleeper grime and rust colours. The rocky embankment has been painted and weathered, which I am pleased with the end result.Tomorrow the ballast will be laid and left to dry properly before weathering powders are added. Looks good Kev. When are you going to add the buildings?  Actually, in all seriousness, a small backscene would enhance the scene immensely. It could be removable to fit it into the box. Terry |

I'm so glad you have painted that rocky bank Kev, for some reason everytime I looked at the image in post 8 I started feeling peckish ! Then I figured out why  I'm in two minds about a back scene but you could easily do one that is changeable so you can try different themes to see what works ? And even change it occasionally.
