A terrific program that I've used to make buildings for the layout. It has lots of textures built in, and you can import your own, then scale to size to create complex walls etc, using its ability to work in layers. Even I learned how to use it ![]() http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/PagePlus/default.asp Mike |

I've had this installed on my computer for some time, but never used it as a design tool for buildings :!: Will have to take a closer look. Any quick start tips, Mike :?: |

Jeff - sorry I didn't respond sooner. It has been a while since I used it, but at the startup page you choose 'new project' then the paper size [ I used A4] then it's simply a matter of going to 'insert', choosing a pre-saved texture file e.g. a brick wall placing it on the 'paper' and sizing it to fit via the little handles. Click somewhere away from the paper to set the image in place. Once you've done that, you insert more images, such as a window, and place it over the top of the bricks. Add a door and another window, and you'll have a finished wall in no time. You can use the program to draw patterned lines to create window frames, or fancy brickwork, and all the superimposed images can be made as transparent as you like, to suggest a faded painted-on sign, for example. As it's been a while, I do forget how that's done, but if you like I'll look into it again. It's fun to use, and very creative. Mike |
