The late Carl Carentd wrote three books on the subject. Available here for download as .pdf. Look fine on a Kindle and print out well to A4. http://www.carendt.com/ While Carl was from the US plenty of his contibutors came from this side of the pond. As for size, well from memory around 1' x 2' but he certainly carved nothing in stone. Site has some examples on as well. ____________________ freelance model railways and tramways http://www.picsntech.co.uk |

Great to see this seperate section. My interest has come about through an interest in end to end layouts. Now if a 4x2, or 8 square feet is a fall layout then in my book so is a 1x4, 6"x8' or even 3"x16'! In 00 I reckon 3"/75mm about the minimum for single track and 6"/150mm for double track. Smallest I have managed so far is A4 and bending 00 track for tight radii is an interesting exercise. For the record Hornby 0-4-0s and bogies manage the roughly 4" radius OK. My test run. ____________________ freelance model railways and tramways http://www.picsntech.co.uk |
