Hi folks, hope you are all well. I have a bit to say about the Hornby Tipping Wagon operating set. Within my layout I am building, I have included two of the Hornby operating sets - the tipping wagon set and the conveyor set.Recently I felt it would be a great addition to have more tipping wagons to expand the fleet of Adler and Allan wagons, so the 'company' has an increased presence in the industrial area. Having searched alot I find Hornby do not make one exactly as required. This I conclude from Googling for individually sold end tipping wagons from Hornby. There is the R6212A wagon which is almost the same with two exceptions, one in particular: there is no latch on the side to release the end when the wagon is tipped. Also it is not weathered, but that's not a biggie. Have a look for yourself. Below is the Operating set in action, and the photo is the R6212A individual wagon which you can see has no latch but appears to have a hole for one. ![]() I would love to hear from anyone that is able to modify a R6212A wagon so that a latch is included. I could fathom making the latch and fitting it but I doubt it would be anything like as good as an experienced logo/wagon builder could make. I have also contacted Hornby this evening to ask why this seems to be the case. Cheers for reading. Ste ____________________ Just moved house. A new railway plan is inevitable. Watch this space. |

Methinks you need to reduce the gradient or add winter grip tyres to the loco. You'll either need new wheels or new track very shortly with all that spinning ..................![]() ![]() ![]() Nevertheless, a nice idea from Hornby. ![]() ____________________ 'Petermac |

Very much so, the gradient is really steep in that video!
