Seems OK now . i managed after several attempts to restore to an earlier point. and that finally brought me back to where i was before allowing a mozzilla update.   I believe the update caused the problem.  Thanks Max and Alan .

Hi Sparky , was it just in Firefox ? Or were you having problems with other programs ? If it happens again its worth right clicking on your desktop go into display options and check the screen resolution. If this was changed to too high a setting by the update it can push the display out too far taking some of it off screen

Cheers

 Matt

Thanks Matt.   It appeared to be all programs , Something possibly AVG was stopping  me getting a restore point that covered the period prior to a Mozilla update.   Sometimes the pc just goes in to an update situation when i shut down , thats not bad,  but when there was an optional update is when i had the problem.  So i may ignore those in the future.
Still thanks for the tip i will try that another time.

Roy, Google Chrome, like some versions of Internet Explorer, expect all web sites to be updated by the Owners as soon as changes to Chrome & IE occur.
Firefox on the other hand, while they do have updates , is a far more flexible browser with web sites.

I'm trailing the android version on my nexus 7 tablet as we speak Roy . can't post photos up and have to watch vids via a link if posted but then all browsers struggle with flash video format on the nexus running android. Other than that it seams fast and doesn't have a couple of niggles I was having with Firefox on android which is good . just remains to be seen how stable it is after updates etc , but so far so good
Cheers
