I had an aunt who lived in Smithincott for many years so I know how picturesque the area is and what wonderful railways they would be to model.

With such scenic potential on your doorstep, I'm surprised you're planning to model the SR - in fact, I'm surprised anyone should plan to model the SR - I thought it was toothpaste made by Gibbs…………………….

Oh yes, almost forgot - you say the layout will be permanently based at home - I think that's a great place for SR layouts ….. :cool wink

p.s. Have you heard of Sir Nigel Gresley and the LNER - both great sources of inspiration…………………… :cool wink
