Tools for cutting and shaping
Hi All. Even though I change blades on a regular basis I cannot cut plastic sheet in one go without faffing around,Most of the time is spent smoothing burrs. And even making several passes with blade against a straight edge I have trouble keeping the blade in the first cut. Best wishes Kevin

So you make one or two passes with the knife dependent on the thickness then snap it off, a quick clean up with sandpaper or a file and it gives a nice clean edge., practice on some scrap.

When cutting wills i use a standard stanley type utility knife which makes the cutting easier as you can apply more weight to the cut as you have more grip on the knife.
My cutting rule straight edge has a handle which allows me to put more pressure on the workpiece and hold it in place.
Generally you do have to use some sandpaper to rub the edge on to finish the edge.

As Brian said, follow it up with a quick sand and then paint!

I have the 450mm one Kevin for the sort of modelling we do that is fine its not heavy and with the handle thats on it for you it will be very helpfull with your hands holding the workpiece in place.
If you have a Range near you there are £9.99
