Bob, as you know I'm quite a fan of your work, and I am always impressed with the way your pictures are staged, and here's the but, the platforms in the first shot let it down I think.  I know I am being picky, but I expect much higher standards from you now ;-):lol:.

Seriously though, and I know I'm not an expert on this, but are there not better options out there for the British modeller?  Maybe a little sctratchbuild project for you:D

Lovely work on the loco as usual though, another masterclass.

I don't think you are being picky at all, you are dead right the platform as is does not look as good as it should, however, it is not yet finished as Upton station is still under construction, having only completed the far side platforms.  Hopefully it will be better when the canopy and station furniture is added and it is all weathered.  The truth is I was so busy concentrating on the loco that I did not really notice the foreground  - and it is a fresh eye that spots these things.

I have still got a pile of Hornby canopies and so I will probably use these. This is the picture I am using as inspiration, same platform, buildings and canopy:

Oh OK Bob, you are going for flat roofed I see. I asked because had you wanted any pictures of apex roofed canopies I took loads of photos when I went to Exeter which I could have sent you. Those Hornby ones look good in the pictures though.:D

That was a kind offer.  I may use something like that when I get around to Dunton, my other terminus station.

I have been slowly having my locos fitted with DCC sound. The first 3 are now complete and a further 3 are on the way. Here is a short clip of them in action - a bit of train spotting at the middleton level crossing:

Thanks Les

No not me, the DMU has a whistle and the buzzer sound as part of the sound programme along with horns, brakes etc. I have mine set a little loud at the moment and will probably turn it down a little.

Very nice video Bob Sound puts another dimemsion within a model railway i find it a great addition but i think if you had 10 sound units running at once in an enclosed area it would be rather loud

cheers Brian.W
