Returning to the hobby after many years absense, now retired (9yrs) so plenty time on my hands to get back into the hobby, planning on doing a medium size end to end layout .

Good for you Brian.  I like the idea of an end to end layout.  I retired about 12 years ago and have been working on my 7mm end to end layout for about 8 yrs.

I think people don't appreciate just how much work is entailed in building a layout, especially if you are single handed.
