Breaker of Things
Just stopping in to introduce myself an some of you will no doubt notice my name pop up on the bottom of the forum and be surprised to see that a brand new member has come in with a red (Administrator) name.
I'll explain :)
Spurno and Barchester have been chatting about the forum, and what needs to happen to keep it going. Part of that is trying to rope somebody in to do some back-end work on the forum to keep the lights on. After a vigorous vetting process of various companies, what they could offer and the associated costs and some discussion on exactly what needs to be done, they've approached me and asked for some assistance.
Now I could give you a run-down of my technical credentials, why I'm the best person to do this etc etc but the only truly relevant point here is I'm related to Barchester and he Guilt Tripped me into volunteering my time for free!
So you'll see me around, but i'm mainly here to tinker away with stuff in the backend - I know very little about modelling and railways I'm afraid - other than having gifted Barchester an Engine or two over the years - so I won't be much help on the forum content side of things, but I'll be around tinkering with the software and making some changes that need to be made.
All being well - you won't notice the work i'm doing - it's all about making sure the forum is set to run for the foreseeable future.
So howdy, nice to meet y'all - and if anything breaks….I didn't touch it, it was like that when i got here.

I suppose you have a car then and not a van. Pardon the cryptic in me
In the meantime, I'll try not to break anything. Hope this helps.
Bill :cheers
At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Delighted to have you aboard Sir - as others have said, this forum is, to many of us, an important and irreplaceable piece of our model railway history so many thanks, in advance, for helping to ensure it doesn't break. :cheers

And congratulations to Barchester. I think getting relatives to do things for you is an under appreciated skill.

Now there's a good name for a hotel chain!
Look forward to not seeing what you do to keep us entertained.
Your first fix will be - your typewriter. It seems to be stuck in small print mode.
Eyes aren't as good as they once were!
Cheers.
Gary

I do like a good pun.Welcome Break,
Now there's a good name for a hotel chain!
Welcome from me too. I hope you have very little to do, but many favours to collect. But if it turns out to be more of a task than you imagined, be assured that it is truly and genuinely appreciated!

Thanks for volunteering. The work behind the scenes is so incredibly important, but not often recognised as much as it should be.
Take care and shout out if you need any help.
Cheers :cheers
