I'm not a strict railway modeller, but mainly a collector of Hornbydublo 3 rail and 2 rail for nostalgia reasons. Hope that is ok here. I do have some decent modern railway stuff that I hope to do some proper modelling with one day. I grew up in Montreal alongside the CPR and CNR trans-Canada railroad with the giant 4-8-4 steam locos and have been collecting stuff with the intention of one day modelling a bit of that track from the 50's.
Meanwhile I am having great fun with my grandchildren running my HD stuff. I used to keep my vintage HD stuff away from them and just ran more modern engines and rolling stock, but found that the recent model trains are just not made for children!!! My HD has lasted from the 50's and 60's and are pretty bullit proof!
Cheers!

Welcome to the club.
I am a bit of a collector as well, mainly just locos of various gauges, Z to OO with 1 3.5 inch thrown in.
Maybe we should start a " My Loco collection " thread.

Hi Dave and welcome! There is some great ' old stuff' out there ! Including a few of the members on here 😜
Aus, that sounds like an idea ? Would be good to maybe see some of what members have, where it came from, and why they got it. Sometimes it's not a valuable piece, but invaluable to the owner for it's memories ✅
Once again welcome aboard Dave, look forward to seeing more
Cheers
Matt
Wasnie me, a big boy did it and ran away

Love a bit of Hornby Dublo! My clubs recent exhibition included a HD layout and I guarantee that the vast majority of moedllers who attended opened their conversations with "I/my Dad started with a set like this"
Pure nostalgic fun.
