To give a bit more room on tracks, I cut the long sections off to give:-
Painted
But with the D&S slowly removing buffers off rolling stock, there needs to be a further modification to protect couplers so gluing styrene of 2mm thickness onto the face
yes I know , it is OOF but I will ( should ) get better as time marches on exclam:
Now painted & to be weathered

Peter, the switches that operate the points with that buffer stop to the left…
the switches are at the edge of the layout just like those on the RHS below

I thought I would hijack your thread and show off the Hornby buffer stops I modified. I thought the Hornby buffer stops were a tad too bulky and needed sliming down, not to mention the dodgy looking shiney black timber buffing plank. After a little modifying, addition of some shaped balsa and some paint, I think that they came up ok.

When are going to add lighting into the lamps on your buffer stops to add some more realism? You could do it easily with your wiring prowess!
