The end of the article suggests collection soil samples for that next project.
It might be worth members bearing in mind that as far as the U K is concerned.
The slightest crossing on to the land is sufficient to be a trespass; removing soil or part of a building is a trespass; ………………… It is not necessary to know that the land belongs to somebody else — i.e. it is no defence that the trespass was due to a mistake of law or fact.
You need to get the land owners permission before removing soil.
All land in the UK is owned or in the control of somebody who can give permission or not as the case may be.

Come to France !! We have the "right to roam" and can cross almost any farmland (provided, of course, you don't get stupid and trample crops etc !!) and we do so walking our dog daily. Removal of soil - I suppose it would only be polite to ask permission. We live in the "prune" region and, having asked first, we gather buckets full of plums which, for one reason or another, they only seem to harvest one year in three !!!
It looks like a very simple method of making rocks Bob and one I'll study in more detail when I get home next week.
