Model Railroader online magazine has, this week, reprinted an article on Detailing Ponds

Funnily enough they have also announced a diorama contest :!:

My issue came today and there's some good stuff in there including an article on an easy way to build a large helix. Sound familiar to anyone.

It is a great issue, Bob.  I'm enjoying the article on using details selectively.

I must say this - I am very impressed with their distribution network.  You got your issue today, only a day after mine arrived :!:

Was this only in the online magazine, Tim.
I didn't know they did such a version, I assumed it's the same as the printed version, which I sometimes buy.
Is there a subscription to pay :?: (I guess it would be cheaper than the printed one anyway. )

What you see is free, Jeff, but very limited.  The frontpage acts as a promotional page for the printed magazine, with numerous enticements.  The online product reviews and libraries (including a vast layout design facility and past article cache) are subscriber only.  By that they mean subscribers to the printed magazine.

Believe me, it is worth a few pounds a year (especially with such a strong pound/euro against the dollar) 8)  I know that the models are predominantly American, but the technique sections and general availability of knowledge are better than most other model rail magazines I have seen.

One of my sections, Tim, so I've deleted the duplicated post for you.
Thanks for the clarification about the magazine.

Even in old Bightly my copy of April MR arrived a few days ago on sub. I agree, the scenic feature is very good indeed. Pelle Sjoberg is highly talented in this area.
