Behind the 5 from the left roof support column, there is a locomotive, perhaps just arriving, with light smoke rising from it's stack.
There is also a ghostly looking figure standing at the middle horse's head, which is how a person might appear if moving during exposure.

Similar to the horse on the right which appears to have it's head down.
There again………………………………………………………

If you imagine standing where the photographer is, it would be pretty dark and, to get the depth of field, he'd have used a tiny apperture - any kind of flash would be out of the question. Film, in those days, needed holding up to the sun for an hour to register anything (;-)) so my guess is that, as Jim said, it was a fairly quiet period with not much in the way of train movements and the people have disappeared simply because the camera couldn't record them. You could try it yourself if you dig out your old film cameras. Load up some very slow film, shut the lens down to a pin-hole, set it on a tripod in a dark area on "B" setting and press the shutter. After you've watched the Coronation Street Omnibus Edition, release the shutter ………….. I'll guarantee you won't get any people (unless they too are watching the Coronation Street Omnibus Edition). :thumbs
