Kept in action for the present as a token exchange point for the Maesteg branch. Most of the rest of the routes here appear to be either out of use or not in regular use.

I'm curious to know whether this signal box had sustained damaged at some stage, looking at the different brickwork to the lower right hand side of the second pic. Is the brick section running the full height of the back wall the 'once was there' chimney ?

It's possible although on another website it suggests the box was extended. It must have been a busy box as six routes converged here and Tondu shed was close by on the other side of the line.
