Forcing specific routes to be used in preference

Hi all,

I am looking for some help, hopefully I am not going over old ground - I didn't see it.



Ok so if we set up a schedule (for goods trains say) so that the route between Block 1 and Block 2 can use any of the three paths then in theory TrainController will pick one at random, as I understand it, each time the schedule is started. What I want to achieve, if possible, is that the route through Block 4 will be used if available, then Block 5 but only on this schedule. Another schedule (for express trains) may want to use Block 6 as it's preferred route. Any ideas?

I tried using a Flagman but ender up with a conituous loop error somehow.

TC is so flexible there are undoubtedly a number of ways this can be achieved……this is how I would do it:

In the Schedule Specific Settings for the Goods Schedule:

Set a condition for Block 5   " Block 4 Reserved "

Set a condition for Block 6   " Block 4 and 5 Reserved"

This will determine how TC will select the Route

Thanks John. That appears to do what I want. I'll spend today on my test system just checking through a few senarios but I am sure with minor tweaks it will be the answer. Just been in for a minor op so thought I would experiment with TrainController as other projects are on hold whilst I recover.
