One of the things that was never done when I used to work in software support was to make changes on a Friday! Could spoil the weekend.

I also noticed the absence of the usual post from Juergen listing the changes.
A couple of times recently it seems the update had to be updated shortly thereafter to correct bugs in the original update:roll:
I think I will give it a few days before downloading ;-)

Discovered this link on the RR&Co forum Changelog TC 8.0 – RailRoad&Co.-Wiki ……didnt know it existed
It lists the reported glitches/bugs against the current version which will be fixed in the next.
The items are only recorded in the language (English or German) in which they were first reported……..the vast majority, not unexpectedly, are in German …….I guess I will have try Google translate to learn more.

I have just posted this on the RR&Co forum………………has anyone else had this problem or are you all metric?
Dear Mr FreiwaldI find a problem in 8.0 F3 with displayed trains speeds when running trains. I have un-ticked the View/Metric Units to run in Miles Per Hour (mph). If a goods train is schedule to run at 20 mph, in Engine and Trains window its running speed is shown as 12 mph. (i.e. it 5/8 of 20 - the conversion from metric to imperial distances) Therefore TC (silver) is assuming the 20 is kph and converting it to mph at 5/8 less, and then running the train at this lower speed. I reverted to 8.0 F2 which runs correctly. What has changed in 8.0 F3 for this to happen? Dunsbury
I thought this was worth a separate topic.I have the same experience as Dunsbury.
In non metric mode, speeds entered in block properties as MPH are treated when running schedules as KPH. So if a block has a speed set at 40 mph, TC runs the schedule at a scale 40kph…….the train window shows 25mph and the train runs at that speed. This is clearly very unsatisfactory.
A short term work around is to check the metric box…..the speeds are then correctly converted to kph. In the above example the block speed is shown as 64 kph and the schedule runs at that speed……ie the speed I originally intended…..40 mph.
I am puzzled that more people from the UK and North America have not raised this issue……I dont see how it can be an isolated case.
This can be replicated by running Schedule 1 on the Southtown Demo file in non metric mode. The speed is set at 75mph……the train window never moves beyond 45mph!
Could you please let me know whether this bug will be corrected in the near future otherwise I guess I will reluctantly have to re install F2
Kind Regards

Robert has pointed out that the train window in non metric shows incorrect speeds but the actual speed is correct.
I am doing some more testing…..it may have been my imagination:oops:
The incorrect speedo is still irritating though
