Steam engines in digital sound.

If you are of a certain age you will certainly remember the LPs which featured the sounds of steam engines. (The word 'vynal' was not in common use then.  You had 'lino' on the floor and records were made from 'plastic').

The records were released on the Transacord label (later Argo Transacord).

For your delight, you can download those original recordings, for a small price, here:

http://www.transacord.co.uk/.

Enjoy!

That looks good Terry - unfortunately, there's no provision for a preview (or pre-listen ).  Maybe you have to sign in …………..:hmm

Has anyone heard any of the digital reworks ?

Peter, that was my first thought when I visited the site.  Still, they are not expensive and I'm tempted to pay for one download just to try it out.

Edit.  I have just emailed them asking if it is possible to have a description of what is on each record and a short sound sample.

Me too Terry. :thumbs

I agree they're not very expensive but it would still be a good marketing ploy to offer a sound bite.  I'm sure they could do something to stop people pirating form the snippet.
