Railway terminology

Hi All.   Updating Victorian railway lines in London , one of my local lines serves London Bridge . Over the recent three years or so the engineers have been busy "straightening out the kinks" to make them more suitable for an efficient train service. Over that period various parts of the line have been closed, especially at Bank Holidays, handy for the workforce ? But not so good for the family getaway. In all this modernisation a new term has emerged "Dive Under" in other words a "Flying Junction ". The only "Divers" I ever knew of? were those intent on taking their own lives, at the same time putting the frighteners up the Driver, no one thinks about the Driver? Unless they want Driverless Trains?    Just my thoughts. Best wishes. Kevin

Hi Mike.  Thank you.  Very good , the new term "Dive Under" for a junction ? Would equate to one train diving over? and that could be misconstrued , where "Flying Junction" equates to speed. And Express Trains go fast, at least some of the time.     Kevin
