I see it is being redeveloped as a 5* hotel. That will be some place to stay !
It is a fantastic building and one full of intrigue. You have enough space to model it Barry …….what do you say ? :hmm.

this was covered in a recent TV show aired here, viz.Secrets Of The Railway - Hitler's Trans-Pyrenean Railway,
Another of the many fascinating Railway documentaries which have surfaced here since COVID. It's spelt Canfranc after the village of the same name.
Another was on the Hartzbahn, somewhere we'd planned to visit on our trip last year but now back on bucket list. If you can get the whole series they're well worth it. Currently airing here is Rob Bell's walking Britain's lost railways Series 3.

I have in fact been to the Hartz mountains and ridden the Hartzbahn - an amazing area and spectacular scenery. Some really fabulous locomotives too - one good thing the old DDR authorities preserved.
Sorry about the typo with "Canfranc"

I remember the tele programme referred to - a magnificent building with a somewhat sworded past. I thought that it's history marked it down for destruction but clearly not.
