Now you can run a short HST.

That'll be the prototype by Hornby then!

Bill :)

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Might have been human and had the front end washed thoroughly afterwards. Shudder to think. More likely a buffer stop or something like that.

I remember HST's being searched under and around the driving end, in Bristol Temple Meads for "missing bits " after incidents on the line between WSM and Bristol. If we  were lucky it was only animal bits missing….but sometimes not:cry:    Also often saw a power car coupled up to a shunter heading off the the Marsh for one reason or another…That would look fun on a layout :hmm

cheers

You couldn't get a HST shorter than this one on the Main Line. Taken on the main line into Plymouth this afternoon.

No 43169 'The National Trust' and 43027 'Glorious Devon'

They had probably come out of Laira Shed.
