with thanks to Stubby

In another thread, Stu put me on to paint.Net

http://www.getpaint.net/

You have to be careful and single mindedly ignore all of the flashy buttons which get you to download all sorts of rubbish.

However, persistence pays.

The controls are so simple, even I could follow them.

However, make a copy of the photo you want to paint on.  I didn't and I lost the original in the many Save processes at the end.

Not to worry.  All in all, a worthwhile addition to my quiver - and I easily retrieved the original photo from the YMR Gallery.

Thanks, Stu.   :thumbs

Well done Max.  Sorry, I should have said to take a copy of the photo first - it's something I do naturally so forgot to mention it.

You can, of course, increase the canvas size in specific directions - it defaults to centrally / all around.

But glad you've got the hang of it

No, not at all Stu.  Easy fixed, but I thought I'd mention it for anyone else coming behind.

I was really please how well it worked.   I'm not that great with computers but I worked it out.

Thanks again.
