Goes to show that you do not need a vast space and complex trackwork to produce something that is really nice. I found myself using "Pause" loads of time to look at the detail.
Now why was it I am building in 24x16?????????????

I agree……I think I saw just two turnouts? But the buildings were superb……the detailing….guttering, corbels, garden furniture etc etc quite amazing and thats before mentioning the two big set pieces.Dave - nice find.

It's a fabulous piece of modelling, as was his previous layout, Rowlands Castle. Which has now gone to Rowlands castle museum http://www.rowlandscastleheritagecentre.org.uk/model-railway/
I've seen both layouts in real life and spoken to Pete, a nice guy..

He really is a remarkable modeller and the research put into World's End is mind boggling. I know Knaresborough fairly well and the bits he has modelled are pretty accurate - scaled down of course and, as Q said, "compressed".
My only slight comment is that it's all very clean. Knaresborough never was scruffy but it was, with the exception of those modern "pseudo-Georgian" developments, somewhat weather-beaten.
You'll have guessed I'm a "weathering" man ………………….

Fair point but under Rule 1, I think we are all allowed a little Rose Tint when it comes to our model Worlds. After all, for most of us, if the layout were to be depicted as per real life, it would be closed and covered in tarmac!!My only slight comment is that it's all very clean

The Gents urinals at the station, could be smelt sone distance away, I'm not going to be that accurate…Vent stack pipes….mark of modelling based on research.
