Adapting an old coach to become a Bogie B Passenger Brake?
Hi All. With so much on my plate at the moment, I have been inspired into thinking about an old favourite.I am looking for a possible OO scale coach for conversion , if possible ? I would like a Bogie B Passenger Brakevan ,at least if I don’t make an ash of it? It will have bogies. But with my eBay experiences behind me? I don’t want to go down that again. But I don’t know what type of carriage to start with. Where? Model railway shows, or swap meets.
Best wishes. Kevin

sr bogie b van - Recherche Google
Hornby do (or did) one RTR and Ratio do a kit in 00.
Before Farish brought one out in N gauge I did a cut 'n shut on 2 CCTs which looked close enough.
Cheers MIKE

The newer Bogie B from Hornby is essentially the same vehicle type as the Ratio kit, but you don't have the fun of building and finishing it. The Ratio kit is over-complicated, in my opinion, but can make up into a fine, detailed vehicle, and you can finish it to suit your own requirements. For all the included details in the kit, the one thing missing is the grilles that go behind the windows. I used Blacksmith Models etches when I built mine years ago, but I believe Roxey Mouldings offer similar etches too.
