Pulling power surprise

Most people moan that their Dapol N gauge M7 class 0-4-4T will only pull 2 or 3 coaches; I've done some minor modifications to produce the push-pull version adding some weight at the same time; the basic out of the box model weighs 25gm, my push pull modified as in this video weighs 32gm, another earlier version I did by hacking a 14xx and adding a white metal body  (shortened ABS Highland 0-6-4T) weighs 56gm, needless to say that pulls even more.  The extra weight consists of a thin piece of lead under the front of the footplate which is extended by 2.5mm (the lead also acts as support for the join where the footplate is extended) a cast brass Westinghouse pump is fitted, and the various air reservoir tanks etc are from brass rod. some more thin lead is onther floor of the cab and part way up the front of the cab, a plastic crew don't add much!

In this video the push pull modified  M7 is pulling 9 Dapol Maunsells plus 2 Farish Bogie B  vans (it can also pull the same train bunker first.)

That's pretty impressive Mike, the radius is pretty tight too.
Nice to know that with a bit of fettling you can add almost a third of its weight again.
