Incredible Service
Having just received an incredible level of service from C&L, I thought I had to put it on record. I do try to support my local model shop where I can, but also buy quite a lot on line, especially when a specialised product is required.I have used C&L for a number of things but on this occasion it was for a pack of ready sliced cork underlay. I was working on some track laying on Friday morning and realised that I was about to run out. At about half past midday, I went on line to find the C&L site (stored in my favourites) and found the item I needed. I filled out the required forms and hit the final purchase button at 12:39. Immediately I received an email from them confirming the order.
One hour, twenty minutes later at 13:59, I received an Order Status Change email from them stating that the item would be posted that afternoon, personally signed by the sender of the email.
Just 6 minutes later at 14:05, I received a further Order Status Change email stating that the item had been posted, again personally signed.
At 09:15 this morning, less than 21 hours after I realised I was running out of the cork, the postman arrived with the package from C&L. Amazing, and a truely wonderful example of customer satisfaction. I couldn't have had it much faster if I had gone out to my local model shop, even if they did stock that particular product.
Well done C&L. :doublethumb

If the postman was Royal Mail then credit is due to that oft maligned organisation too.

Yes, I should have given credit to Royal Mail as well. Especially the very helpful local postie who does our round. He is used to bringing all sorts of different shape packages to my address, but is always cheerful and goes out of his way to ensure a safe and timely delivery.Excellent service.

I enquired about sleepers for my tram layout - a question via their e-mail contact address.
At 17.10 last night, an answer came back from Pete Llewellyn giving me all the details I required together with the part number and price.
I placed an order by return and asked what delivery would be as I'm over in UK next month and it might have been cheaper. That was
The order has been dispatched today - at their standard postage cost - and, in reply to my e-mail, I received a very pleasant and friendly e-mail from Pete.
Not only would I recommend them but I will certainly deal with them again almost to the point of trying to buy something that I might not otherwise have needed.
Well done indeed C & L Finescale. :cheers:cheers
