As time goes on, I can see why Bob has used successfully so many Metcalfe Models. Here we're on the way with a Metcalfe Farm Barn. Bit of poetry there! Like the Inn, it's a neat piece of "kit!" So far so good! Needs a little bit of careful thought but so far, so good. For the countryside section of the layout it will be cool stuff. More later ………….. :Happy

Which glue are you using ?

I'm using 151 Clear adhesive which is like UHU. Works well. The glue in the background is more for plastic kits.

 

Do a bit more today ….. weather is "….—-….." but I'm thankful for the fact that I'm not back in the classroom facing wet playtimes! or playground duty in the rain. Off to Lidl's instead to but some reduced price wine!

I like the Metcalf range too John. I havn't seen this one before and it looks good. Interesting about the glue - if you ever run out you might also like to try Rocket card glue, it's very quick drying and strong.

For extra longevity it is wise to run a fillet of PVA down every internal joint, body and roof, before finishing the model off.

actually pva is all i use, with a bit of selotape for the windows.

I now have a plan for the space i have in front of my fueling area and engine shed, thanks John :thumbs.

Looks nice by the way, i only use these kits, find them easier to use.

Don't forget to colour in all the outside corners with a felt tip pen the colour of the building to hide the white card showing :thumbs

Sellotape [Durex to you down under?] is good stuff for the job, but the cheapo stuff can go yellow and squidgy [technical word] after a while, there is an archival version of real sellotape that is guaranteed not to yellow etc, I think it is called 'Crystal' and the inside roll is silver. I have had the same roll for 'ever' and seems bombproof, just a 'heads-up' next time you go to an art shop, etc.
