Are those Blue/grey levers on the control panel for the Kato Point motors Ed?

Yeah, I think a quite impressive (if expensive) row of levers.

I like 'em and it was a lot easier to set up than Peco points and motors.

… solid, good looking and easy to manipulate.

Nice.

Not had time to do much, but I have started trying to create some templates for the partly curved station platforms.

Not easy in N and I suspect the gap between platform and coach will end up with passengers needing to do the long jump to get on.

Thankfully the platforms will be mainly under the upper level, so it might not be too noticeable.

That's a pretty tight curve for a platform Ed.  However, having the doors at the ends of the carriages, unless you plan on using those non-corridor coaches so popular in the south, should avoid most of the long-jump exits ……………….

If they are indeed hidden, then the ox-bow created by carriage and platform won't be seen………………..

I reckon it will be fine Ed. Hidden away in the tunnel it will be more of a representation and therefore not really seen.

You will know of course!

Can you cope?

I knew there was a reason I didn't like using the  'pencil taped to a coach' method of marking the curves for the platforms, just couldn't remember what it was until now.

It is a 'used' coach from that auction site, not an eye watering expensive brand new one, just the same :12mad_2:

Eek... has that pulled the paint or is it residue glue on the coach body?

Pulled the paint (or is it some sort of print on the plastic) off, only normal sellotape as well.

I now know why I only did straight platforms in 00 gauge :(

Sorry there's a long time between posts but life really is getting in the way this year, including back injections to try and make me a bit more mobile in March, returning to driving after a long gap last month and most recently hospital for a couple of days for prostate reduction surgery, can't believe it's nearly June.

As far as the layout goes, I'm really beginning to hate these platforms.

The Metcalfe kit is OK and if you had gently curving problems they probably wouldn't look to bad, but I'm struggling to get the self-adhesive platform edging to stick and in general all the bits are a bit small for old fat fingers.

I've got them more-or-less in the right place in the pictures (sorry for the shadows, early morning is dark on this side of the house) and I hope the gap will be too noticeable when everything is stuck down.

I might try and add some platform furniture and maybe short canopies to further distract the eye.

Get a few people on the platforms Ed and whatever you're planning to use as a facia on the upper level and it will look great.

Not my era of loco nor my chosen colour scheme but I'm sure someone will like it …………………:mutley

It's 3mm foamboard Peter.

Lightweight, but fairly robust and very easy to shape with a craft knife.

Hi Ed,

Just watch out when you paint it as it tends to warp as the paint dries.  When I use it, I paint both sides.

Bob

You were right about it warping Bob Bob K , it was really was bent until I painted the other side.
