so i can remove the motor anytime i copied the hornby faceplate - then cut a hole then fitted it to the chassis - pushed the motor into place then run super glue round the front the - gear from the old motor will be too big for the new shaft but a guy on e-bay sells gears that will push on

forgot to mention - there is a raised boss on the back of the new motor and after removing the brass bush you need to open up the hole so the motor will locate in the chassis - hope this helps

Hi Ian,
what a nifty idea - I have a few old CD players somewhere in the garage so I will add this conversion to my list of "TODO" projects.
Is this the video you were referring to ?

Hi Ian,

What is the voltage range? Many CD motors are 5.9-6v or less.
