Since there have been a few questions about dimensions, I thought this might be useful.

It's a good starting point. Though Great Western had a larger loading gauge, and so did Highland railways. Originally when built to Stromeferry, the Kyle Line could take fishing boats up to something like 20ft wide.. ( The line was built for the traffic that didn't happen, so it had the clearances and low 2ft high platforms..)
Now I've finally started a model railway…I've inherited another…
