Windows 10 fix

Hi , I thought that i'd relate an experience that i've just gone through , I had very recently upgraded from the Lenz LZV100 to the LZV200 and decided to also upgrade my windows 7 32 bit PC to windows 10 64 bit, I run traincontroller 9 gold and obviously had to download  a new copy of such and that's when the problems cropped up in that my USB licence stick was'nt being seen by TC and I also could not connect to it with my new LZV200 because it rejected every COM port that I tried , I tried everything I knew checking drivers and various configurations but got nowhere and then by pure chance whilst googling the problem I came across an article posted by a guy on a general PC advice website , he had my exact same problem and had tried umpteen fixes and like myself he got nowhere until he read another article that advised him to try clearing his motherboards CMOS and putting his BIOS on default settings and don't ask me why co's I have'nt a clue but it worked and it worked for me also , i'm posting this here because it may just help someone who encounters the same problem .
