I have always dreamed of modelling the Crab and Winkle Line (the line from Canterbury to Whitstable…. part of it ran through my school grounds and we owned the tunnel). The locomotive was Invicta (incidentally, the name of the school where I was previously the headteacher) which was based on "Rocket". If I had the space the new Hornby offering would be on my shopping list with a bit of a cosmetic makeover. The C and W line is famous for a number of firsts…..
Oh well! Plenty of other stuff of interest!

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

You could always do a wagon in their livery Michael ………………..
"Rocket" won't be joining my loco stud - unless it's as a static Airfix model and even then, only if I were modelling Darlington station ……………….although that one was Locomotion No 1 I think ………………

I just keep reminding myself I could put DCC sound in both my 009 Bachmann Baldwins for the same price.
Tis a nice model though :???:
