As above. I've got a couple of Lais stay alives that wires have fellen off of. After soldering wires back on I want to know if I can test these with my Multi Meter, and if so, how.

Any help appreciated.

Bit of a guess Pete, but as I understand it stay alives are capacitors so you need a multimeter that can test capacitance.

Thanks Ed, I know they're capacitors, but I don't know how to safely test if they work or not. I'd like to test without the mucking about wiring them up to a loco. I've had more than one wire drop off these particular one's. Shoddy soldering.
