Need your down to earth tutorial

Hello sir,
I need your simple and clear tutorials on the +4 D sound in Traincontroller.
I am simply struggling with this for ny N scale,as i find it will be cumbersome and make a big hole on my pocket to instal sound decoders in all my N scale locos.
Buying a license will be a huge money savings ,as with the cost of about a couple of sound onboard decoders,i can get this license ,for all my n scale locos.
But after installing the +4D sound for my TC v7 Gold,
I am still not able to listen to one sound from the locos.
Please let me know sir.
When i tried  to open TrainAnimator for integrating the sound s,i was not able see any sound file at all.
I am not able to see any sound files anywhere.
Please help sir.

Hi Edward

I'm working on an answer.

But while I do, do you have a reason that you are still on V 7?

Cheers

Thank you Sir.
Still sticking on to V 7 Gold is because, still on learning  curve.
Maybe, when i am bit clear about V 7still do not know
how to create macros,flagman,virtual contacts.
Maybe when i comeout after mastering them,as well as +4D sound etc…
Then i will go for V 8 Gold.
Hope you will kindly push me through sir,on creating and using Macros, flagman, virtual contacts.
Btw sir,what is a macro,flagman& virtual contacts.
How to create these and use them.
Too many questions i suppose Sir.
Hope you will teach me about these.
Thank you sir

The upgrade isn't a huge change, Edward but it will help with discussions as we're all on V8.

Did you get my PM?

Thank you Sir,
But as i do not see a significant difference between V7 &V8,
Whatever is good for V8 might be able to be good for V7.
As the architecture is the same,i think.
Hence please do not neglect me as i am still V7  :roll:
Thank you Sir.
PS: yes Sir ,i have received your PM.

Hi Edward

Yes, the architecture is the same but there have been changes which you will encounter as you go along.

I stuck with V 7 as long as I was able, but I eventually had to bite the bullet.

You will not be neglected, rest assured.

Hi Edward,

I have +4D sound on my layout but have found that unless you are prepared to invest a huge amount of time sourcing and then setting up the loco sounds and finally allocating sounds to each block.   I found it is best suited to ambient sounds - train announcements , etc rather than loco sounds
The software comes with a few loco sounds but as you have discovered you need to set them up in TrainAnimator and I found the results underwhelming.
