I presume this was some sort of lock keepers control room. It's an interesting design and would make a nice model for those fed up with rectangular shapes.

Interesting building.  Why would such a small building require four doors?

It's basically all doors and windows. There wouldn't have been much space for anything inside, especially as there was obviously a fireplace in there. 
Hopefully someone in the club will be able to enlighten us.
