Hi Bill.  This is a second reply. Have I got this correct? 70 cm about two foot five and half inches? Best wishes Kevin
As I said in my post Kevin, 70cm / 27" high. I was also brought up with Imperial, but metric makes so much more sense  :)

27" is 2'3"

At 6'4'', Bill is a tall chap, then again, when horizontal he is rather long and people often used to trip over him! . . . and so a nickname was born :)

Hi Bill.  Thank you. Sorry I didn’t see the Imperial measurements. That would be another sitting down job then.Which is just as well, my knees can’t take too much standing these days.  Best wishes Kevin

Hi Bill.  I have just spotted the IKEA illustration of the “ Osvald “ trestles with a desk type top in front of a chair .I don’t know how high the chair is, I would have to visit to judge that for myself, but, it doesn’t look too bad.
Best wishes Kevin

The osvald trestles Bill recommended are very strong i put a number together for a local shop who have table tops on them holding a lot of very expensive heavy ceramics you could stand on those trestles.
A better buy than the plastic type ones especially in the way you wish to use them. Far more robust

I Think Kevin is talking about getting rid of the OLD boards he is using as benches rather than his current planks ? Seams he is looking for an alternative light weight option so he can get rid of the old heavy benches and also create more space, hence my suggestion of the Stanley saw horses from screwfix, yes they are plastic but that keeps the weight down and they fold up and are easy to store away. the Stanley ones are actually quite robust (I've got several pairs in regular use, one for over 10 years
