I was just wondering if there are any hornby bogies that would be compatible with this lima coach. If there is could I have the hornby part numbers

The other thread was the coupling link itself. Amd another member posted a link to some bogies on a web page but i was unsure which was the right one so started a new thread on just the bogies Asking if any body knew which bogie part numbers would be compatible to nardow it down for future reference

Hi there Trevor,

I take it you had no luck with the coupling so it now has to be the whole bogie.

I think I read  about something similar somewhere, I'll have a look about and see if I can find the info. If my memory serves me correctly, it was a magazine article. If I can locate it I'll come back to you. I take it that the replacement or donor bogie must be Hornby ?

I'll do my best

Toto.

Hi Trevor

These look similar to the ones on the coach, they are supposed to be Mk3 bogies but I have used them before if you do not care about being accurate. Part No is s9749 here is a link to some

Hi Trevor

Hattons stock Bachmann bogies

Bachmann Branchline OO Wheel sets & bogies/trucks Products from Hattons Model Railways

Fitting these to my own Lima Full Brake, I intend to remove the lima mount flush with the floor, then cover the hole with a piece of plasticard, then use a dress makers press stud (also called snap fasteners) to connect the bogie to the coach. This will act as a pivot and also allow the bogie to be removed.

You could try Replica Railways. They do the Commonwealth bogie and I think they just clip in with a stud just like the old Airfix Bogies. For fixing to your Lima coaches I think you will find an 8BA nut and bolt (or this new fangled metric equivalent) will do the trick.
