For those who model the Modern Scene, this link just came onto an Aussie site
New Freightliner PH37ACMi #70005 on the GE test track
I hope they look better in the flesh than the picture does! Now who will make the first model?

The front end is the sign of things to come with the latest crash worthiness regulations. The ribbed front ends are anti-overide devices which are present on all modern trains, but with passenger trains they can be hidden behind a nose cone (which of course totally disintegrates in a collision and is only for aerodynamics)
Probably going to be a Marmite scenario - you will either love it or hate it!

I'm going to restrain myself on the lorries vs kettles debateI love 'em all, well the one's I like anyway :mrgreen:
Thought they were American - we'll (you'll :roll:) be buying them in dollars next and driving on the opposite side of the tracks. !!! Still, at least Myansome won't have to change his crossing barriers !!!!

Hey Owen - I love LORRIES :lol::lol::lol: great to see good design transferring across transportation sectors :thumbs I like the way you choke on a word you can't bear to utter and come up BL888Y. It looks like a number plate and I'm tempted to put it on one of my artics as a tribute to you.
Peter Maybury, Freightliner Group CEO said his first sight of of the painted locomotives almost brought tears to his eyes! I assumed it was happy emotion :doublethumb but Owen may have a different take :hmm
Bye ya'aall
Have a nice day :cool:
Happy Modelling,

With numbers from 70001 - 70030 I reckon if we give them matching "Brit" names one or two of the kettle fans might come around ………![]()
Absolutely NO WAY.:shock::shock::shock:
If they stick the name "John Milton" on that thing I'll go spare. Good job Perry isn't posting much at the moment or there would be blood. :twisted:
