They do look great phill 8)  good for insperation but the price of 400 quid  for a all singing all dancing 08   you would be scared to put it on a layout. 70 quid for a air brush and compressor and you are on your way.

pm sent phill

Me too, Phill - although my dream would turn into a nightmare when, me being distracted, the 08 would reach the end of THAT line where there isn't a buffer (yet  ) and the dull thud as it hits the hard floor

You ask if this is posted in the right place - it could live quite happily in the Everything Bachmann section where, as Moderator, I will look after it very carefully :D

Interesting pics. In case anyone missed it, these are O gauge, which may explain the prices - a bit.

I was lucky enough to be given one of these Bachmann Brassworks 08 class models (factory sample believe it or not). It will become a Victorian Railways F class shunter, which were essentially the same thing as adapted for use in Australia.  Unfortunately the one I have is the late version, whereas the early version is closer to the Australian ones. But I'm happy to put up with this discrepancy for the price.

that price for an O gauge model is very compettitive really
There are not many locos that are O gauge you would get less than £400
if any to be honest.
Real world is really if you have an O gauge layout you are far less likely to have loads of locos which many OO modellers tend to have.

if i had spare space i would like to build a small O gauge layout but trouble is you cant have everything any extrra space i am creating is already assigned to OO expantion.

Actually I like the look of them except for the crudely painted zebra stripes, apparently done by a shaky hand.
