New to this hobby

Hi all, I am thinking of starting this hobby. My previous hobby has been engineering. My main interest is kit building and scenery, so there will be plenty of questions coming your way.

Hello from Forest of Dean!

… is a model shop from the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. This is our official account where we aim to answer any questions that a retailer can answer, plus ask a few of our own!

The person who runs this account is Little Dan. I am a keen railway enthusiast - I model in OO Gauge and 16mm:1ft Live Steam Garden Railways, and have two OO exihibition layouts, a modern image childrens orientated layout and a 1970's/80's diesel depot layout, as well as a garden railway com…

Hi All from N Shropshire

…y childhood clockwork trains in the 1950s. I have grandchildren who enjoy the clockwork track, because it is the building of the track that interest rather than just watching trains. Clockwork always runs out and needs intervention. It is also wonderfully robust kit and stands treatment by children as is witnessed by the state of much of it after 60 or more years.
Came across this site trying to track down O gauge rail connectors for the many rails I have now with missing connec…

Bachmann mk1. & mk2A

Hi

Can somebody please tell me what mo2A coaches would go best with mk1 coaches with ribbed roofs.  I ask this as there has now been three releases of the Bachmann ml2A coaches with problems with the grey not being under the door stops to shades of blue.  I am after ml2A to go with ml1 with correct shades and best paint application

Thanks

News of new club Stratford upon Avon Warwickshir

….
A brief history :- formed in 2010 we first met in a local pub and then moved to a very
cramped and cold (free ) hut that was restricting in every way but better than the pub room.Late last year the decision was taken to actively search for better premises.
We moved on April 1st to a superb new location at Bealey just outside Stratford upon Avon.
We are now rebuilding our two 00 club layouts and also building a new test/ running track.
Providing for O,00 and N gauge. …

N gauge wiring for dummies

…e EZ Digital Controller and additional Peco set track purchased to enable a circular 3 line layout with a number of left and right hand Peco points leading to a fiddle yard area.
I've already found that I can provide power across al three lines with simple jumpers across the points and it's my intention to run multiple locos although I've yet to do so.
My question is, as I'm using set track, do I need to solder dropper wires to every individual section of the tr…

Hello from Suffolk

…survived and as my 'crisis' was much less expensive than finding a trophy wife I thought I'd start to fulfil my life long ambition of building a model railway.

I've dabbled on and off for years, often making things for my Dad's layout but never laid any track of my own. But this is all about to change! I'm planning to build a OO LNER goods yard set in the 1930s. It won't be a huge affair, about 8ft long with some through running so I can watch the t…
