…to do it on this site was most helpful.After 66 years of deprivation, I have recently (last year) started on the learning curve that is railway modelling - well, not quite modelling yet. Interest began after I bought a second hand 'Flying Scotsman' (sans tender, so just push along) for my 4 yr old grandson to play with.
Since then I've bought a few more locomotives - some from the Thomas the tank engine series, Hogwarts Express, and others that revive me…

…riang Jinty and four trucks . The track was mounted on grey plastic .We ( mainly dad ) added bits and pieces to the set until it was large enough to be mounted on a baseboard around 6 x 4 ft . The board had to be kept in the garden shed because there was no room in the house .
