Hello all,I am pleased to join YMRC. Have recently retired and hoping to create a OO gauge layout. My direction leans to a brewery themed project. Have a good grounding in DIY but have much to catch up with regarding modelling. Would be glad of advice with regard to suitable soldering stations for general electrics and also kit building in brass and white metal. I am aware that Antex have discontinued what appeared to be suitable.

Introduction

…uge.  I lived in England in the Eastern Region territory but also lived in the Midlands and North Wales so possess models from all regions existing between 1948 and 1966 plus a few pre-grouping and post '66.  I have everything I need to build a layout ad have just inherited a small dedicated room to use.  Only 8 foot square but I also belong to a local British Modellers club which has several large layouts for members' use.

I collect older European HO models from France (…

Platform canopies for Exeter St David's in OO

Any suggestions on how to acquire some platform canopy supports that look like these? I think they need to be c50mm high for oo gauge - my model of exeter is 'impressionist' rather than precisely accurate so i can be a bit flexible.
Thanks in anticipation…

Firstly, I would like to admit that I am a"failed" modeller, as my aspirations to build a layout have been dogged (over my years) by my inability to plan adequately (I feel better already!!!).

Blue Pullman arrives

…avel on the train to go to school namely the early 60s.   I have a collection of DMU's  Blue pullmans westerns warships a Hymek and some railcars.   Initially I hated the concept of Dcc know I've been fully won over and just purchased a Roco Z21 system and yesterday fitted my class 121 with a sound chip it's awesome.  This is going to become very expensive! I'm not really a club person but have joined my local club at Kidderminster and am enjoying the company of like min…

Help required please.

… bulbs not the newer version with led's but there was no instructions, also there was a yellow on-on switch, but no connecting wires that fit the device, so I decided to buy a Dpdt 3 way mini toggle switch on-off- on 6 pin to use instead of the on on switch. I also have a gauge aster GM500D universal relay switch but not sure if I need this with the toggle switch.  I intend to run the signal light from the auxiliary output 15v on my Hornby select controller. Here is my problem, I know noth…
