Hello from Cambridgeshire
… which hopefully will build up to a larger layout. I'm planning on starting with an MPD, and I'm really not planning on rushing.I'm definitely not a purist. My main interest is the LNER and BR Eastern Region, both BR Blue and Sectorisation, so I have a varied collection of locos and rolling stock.
I'm definitely not a very skilled railway modeller, but I'm hoping to learn a few skills to improve along the way with my new project - hopefully with a bi…

… modelled using kitchen towel or similar washed in Pva.As an alternative try drying out wet wipes.
These are material and tougher to rip.
To soak them use a mixture of a some water, paint to colour and bath sealant. Squeeze some Sealant into container, A small amount of water paint mix, shake it till Its bubbly. Paint it on,as it dries the canvas will be able to hold shapes. Saw this on youtube in relation to Armour modelling….it works!…

Loved train sets as a youth and now have the time and money to build.Looking at recreating Great Yarmouth Beach Station, (M & GN), on the east coast in the 50s' and 60s,. I lived 50 yards from the station and remember playing on the disused platforms as a boy and in the bomb pit which was the extended sidings to the north of the site.

Hello
…s of the very early LNWR and London & Birmingham carriages etc. We are currently finishing a book for Pen & Sword 'The Early Railways - A Modellers Guide'.Otherwise, I've just started on a new version of Gilmorton Town, a 7mm layout, based on an imaginary line off of the Rugby to Market Harborough branch. We moved to St David's in May and it's taken me this long to insulate and line the garden shed (16' x 8'); this will house the station are…

I enjoy making models but Im thinking of instead of plastic kits to maybe go with paper kits instead, or combination of both.
I spend most of my time in f…

…eam train going under a bridge when I was about five.As I can remember, soot must have got into my eye and was made to wear an eye patch by my grandmother!
I have always wanted to build a model railway but never seemed to get around to it, bought locomotives and other odds and ends when back visiting England……so have a small assortment of locos and rolling stock.
Maybe, this winter may be the start of a small end to end layout that I have often sketch…
