I'm definitely not a purist.  My main interest is the LNER and BR Eastern Region, both BR Blue and Sectorisation, so I have a varied collection of locos and rolling stock.

As an alternative try drying out wet wipes. 

 These are material and tougher to rip. 

To soak them  use a mixture of a some water, paint to colour and  bath sealant.  Squeeze some Sealant into container, A small amount of water paint mix, shake it till Its bubbly.  Paint   it on,as it dries the canvas will be able to hold shapes.  Saw this on youtube in relation to Armour modelling….it works!…

Figures..how to paint them

Would anyone be interested in a method to produce a good result quickly..I can produce a short "how to" if wanted. Its based on painting war games figures quickly and accurately using the natural curves of the mould of the figures.

Hi From cloudy Great Yarmouth

…he add to the site.  I come from a background of modelling in general, war-gaming figures and slot cars more recently.  Loved train sets as a youth and now have the time and money to build. 
Looking at recreating Great Yarmouth  Beach Station, (M & GN),  on the east coast in the 50s' and 60s,.  I lived 50 yards from the station and remember playing on the disused platforms as a boy and in the bomb pit which was the extended sidings to the north of the site.

I hail from Ontario Canada and model in N-scale. I used to work for CP Rail where several members of my family worked or are still working there so I fondness of the railway and model railways comes naturally.

planning on building this for my grandkids  and wondering if it would work  power  wise      only ONE loco will b running at the one time i may add   depending on direction of points can i run loco out of say loco shed through point one then change point one to loop  run past point two  then change point two to allow acces to station one  thanks all for looking

As I can remember, soot must have got into my eye and was made to wear an eye patch by my grandmother!
 
I have always wanted to build a model railway but never seemed to get around to it, bought locomotives and other odds and ends when back visiting England……so have a small assortment of locos and rolling stock.
